Hey guys,

I've seen IMG tags take the alt attribute and the title attribute and according to W3C the alt attribute is the only one that's needed so why do people use the title attribute too ? Is it for extra onsite SEO stuff or should it not be there ?

The title attribute is tooltip when you mouse over image.
And alt attribute is description of image when someone cannot see it (f.e loading page without images).

If any browser does not load your website image and not support,  than your alt tag display your img content at this time .

Alt attributes are useful from SEO point of view while title attribute are tool tips for users' experience...and the description in alt attribute should not be more than 100-120 characters otherwise it will be consider as spamming.

It just now occurred to me that the image tag introduced in these lessons is different in that it includes a closing tag whereas the img tag did not. This answer on StackOverflow suggests that use of image tags is incorrect and img is correct
