Title: Keyword use & on-site SEO
Post by: curran81 on 08-25-2015, 12:59:45
Hi,

We have a camper rental website. There's 3 main sections to the website: The campers available for hire (results pages), the Travel Guides and the Blog.

If we want to optimize for "campervan hire London" (and variations) for example, should we optimize the Results Page (which has some text at the top of page and the campers/products below) OR should we optimize our Travel Guides (titled Camper Van Rental In London but can be changed and is rich in content).

Both sections are very different, but presently go after the same or similar keywords. Im thinking we should optimize the Results page and just offer advice with no focus on keywords for the free guides??

Thanks for your help on this and if I need to be clearer please say.

In SEO,  keywords are of supreme importance. Keywords are words of phrases that searh engines use in order to match web pages with search engines. It is important to optimize your website with strategic keywords in order to maximize targeted traffic. You will use keywords in both your on-page and off-page optimization.
On-site optimization refers to the process of making your webite appeal to both search engines and users. It reviews and improves both the public face of your website and the behind the scenes coding and technical set-up that only search engines see.

Assuming these are different pages on your website, each page or section should have it's own novelty that is a different keyword.
For example campervan hire in london is your main keyword, and any variations should be included in one page to avoid - Google panda duplicate content penalty.

Do not target different pages with same keywords. This is treated as a duplicate content.

Search results page is the right section on your site to target in my opinion as that is the most relevant information the user is searching for.
