On Page Optimization means optimizing page title, meta description, meta tags, url structure, body tags, keyword density, image SEO and internal linking.
Also, Write content for your site without thinking of keywords. Google will automatically assign you keywords. Your off-page links will determine your rankings. Don't fill in meta keywords fields.

Your on-page optimization is very much responsible for website crawl-ability. It refers to website architecture, URL structure, content, meta tags, re-directions, loading speed, internal linking etc. I generally recommend GWT (Google Webmaster Tools), its a free to use tool for all your on-page related issues.
