On Page SEO - Redirection Issue

(1/2) > >>

Previously we had WordPress CMS for our website, but now we have switched to the Contentful CMS. After changing the CMS we got several URL issues.

Now we are facing this issue where we want to redirect all pages with trailing slash to all pages without trailing slash. Because currently both the pages are showing code 200 all ok. We tried multiple things, like redirect within the code using js and much more, but we are unable to get through it..

Can someone help? Our CMS is contentful and our hosting is on netlify.

hey, I would like to ask, have you tried redirecting those pages using htaccess redirect / Regexp?
it will be easy to do. just ask your developer to deal with this issue. we prefer htaccess redirection for multiple URLs instead of doing it manually using the plugin!

A redirect is a way to send both users and search engines to a different URL from the one they originally requested. The three most commonly used redirects are 301, 302, and Meta Refresh.

Are redirects bad for SEO? Well, it depends, but in most cases, no. Redirects are not bad for SEO, but — as with so many things — only if you put them in place correctly. A bad implementation might cause all kinds of trouble, from loss of PageRank to loss of traffic.

301 redirects can be so useful for boosting organic traffic. But 301 redirects can cause plenty of other SEO-related issues that don't often get talked about.
