A bounce rate is the number of visitors that source a website through a search engine (paid and non paid) but leave without navigating to any other webpage and "bounce" back to the search engine to find another resource.  These statistics can be used to quantify the quality of the specific landing pages, which is typically the homepage, which a web user arrives at. A high bounce rate will affect search engine position because it implies to the search engines that the website is not relevant to the searched terms that people are locating the website through and will consequently penalise the website which will ultimately be reflected in its search engine position.

If bounce rate is high then it is not good for your site.

Bounce Rate - Bounce Rate is the % of visitors  who visits your site and then steer away without seeing any another page on your website.

Bounce Rate is the term used to analyze web traffic. Its the percentage of visitors enters the page & fleeing from your website almost as soon as they get there.

I think bounce is visitor come on your site. Bounce rate is the time spend by the visitor on your site. If he come and go in a few seconds then your site bounce rate is increase it is not good for your webpage. if he spend more time to your websites pages then your site bounce rate is decrease. Which is good for your website.

Bounce rate is the percentage of visits in which the visitor left your website from the entrance page. Bounce rate is useful to take a decision about why visitors left the landing page, and we have to optimize that particular page.

Bounce rate represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and bounce rather than continue viewing other pages within the same site and calculated as a single-page view or single-event trigger in a session or visit.
