Whenever you see a website's URL that starts with HTTPS, it means the website is secured by an SSL encryption and that it's a safe to transfer sensitive information (such as your credit card number, bank information, etc.) on the website. Last year Google announced some new changes in their algorithm and one of those changes that stood out was the addition of HTTPS as a ranking factor.

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and integral. These certificates are an integral part of website security. When you visit a website with SSL the site's SSL certificate enables you to encrypt the data you send, such as credit card information, names or addresses so it can't be accessed by hаckers.  :P

SSL Certificates are small data files that digitally bind a cryptographic key to an organization's details. When installed on a web server, it activates the padlock and the https protocol (over port 443) and allows secure connections from a web server to a browser.

SSL Certificates will be little documents that electronically bind a cryptographic important to an company information. Once set up on the internet machine, it triggers the padlock and the https process (faster than slot 443) and enables protected contacts from an internet storage space to an internet browser.

Hello, I fouded a good answer in your question! Maybe it is very scientificall, maybe  will help you! SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and integral. SSL is an industry standard and is used by millions of websites in the protection of their online transactions with their customers.

To be able to create an SSL connection a web server requires an SSL Certificate. When you choose to activate SSL on your web server you will be prompted to complete a number of questions about the identity of your website and your company. Your web server then creates two cryptographic keys - a Private Key and a Public Key.

SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer, and it is a cryptographic protocol that establishes a secure connection between a web server and a browser. Its primary purpose is to ensure that data transmitted between the server and the browser remains encrypted and cannot be intercepted by malicious actors.

SSL is essential for SEO because search engines, like Google, consider website security as a ranking factor. Websites that have SSL certificates and use HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) are more likely to rank higher in search results compared to websites without SSL. This is because Google wants to provide users with a safe browsing experience, and SSL helps ensure that the data exchanged between the user and the website is secure.

Additionally, SSL can improve user trust and increase conversion rates. When visitors see a padlock or "Secure" label in their browser's address bar, they know that their data is protected, which builds confidence in the website and encourages them to engage more with the content.

here's some more information:

1. Website Security: SSL encrypts data transmitted between the web server and the browser, preventing unauthorized access or tampering. This is particularly important when sensitive information like login credentials, credit card details, or personal information is being transmitted.

2. Trust and Credibility: Displaying that a website has an SSL certificate can instill trust and credibility among visitors. When users see the padlock symbol or "Secure" label in their browser, they are more likely to perceive the website as legitimate and trustworthy.

3. Data Integrity: SSL not only encrypts data but also ensures its integrity during transmission. It protects against data modifications or tampering by verifying that the data received by the browser is exactly the same as the data sent by the server.

4. Improved User Experience: SSL helps create a secure and seamless browsing experience for users. When a website is loaded over HTTPS, it provides a sense of security and privacy, which can result in longer browsing sessions and increased engagement.

5. Mobile Compatibility: With the increasing use of mobile devices for browsing, having SSL is crucial. Search engines prioritize mobile-friendly websites, and SSL is an essential aspect of mobile optimization.

6. Referrer Data: When a user navigates from a secure website (HTTPS) to a non-secure website (HTTP), the referrer data is usually not passed along. This means that if your website is not secured with SSL, you may lose valuable referral information from sources like social media or search engines.

7. E-commerce and Online Transactions: SSL is especially important for e-commerce websites or any site that handles online transactions. It protects sensitive customer information, such as credit card numbers, during the payment process, ensuring that it cannot be intercepted by hаckers.

In summary, SSL is relevant to SEO because it enhances website security, strengthens user trust, improves search engine rankings, and contributes to a positive user experience. It has become a standard requirement for websites to establish credibility, protect user data, and stay ahead in the competitive online landscape.

On a computer network, and especially on the Internet, communication and the data that circulates are vulnerable. Traditionally, the exchange of data between the machines of a network is done through the protocol "  http  ". The disadvantage of this protocol is that it is not secure, as it is highly vulnerable to attack by malicious individuals or organizations that can access and steal information that is sometimes confidential. An SSL certificate , an acronym for Secure Socket Layer, is a system for creating a secure channel between two networked machineswhether they are on an internal network, or on the Internet. This certificate is a data file that attaches a cryptographic key to the information that is transmitted. In a simple way, it is a system that allows to encode and encrypt information when it is sent, so that it is not readable and accessible directly by anyone. Thus, thanks to the SSL certificate , it is guaranteed that the data exchanged between a computer and the server to which it wants to access can not easily be diverted by a third person or malicious organization.

SSL is a Security Sockets Layer. If the website has SSL Certificate installed then it will open up with https in the starting that means your website is secured. Benefit of SSL is that no one will hаck your website & your information is remain only between you & your computer

According to SEO. Google will rank the website higher which having SSL certification in comparison of non secure websites.

SSL is Secure Socket Layer. If your website is having SSL certificate from your hosting or any company which provides this certificate than your website URL will have HTTPs version instead of HTTP

SSL is used for secure transaction. Whenever there is a online transaction happening on your website HTTPS provides the encryption to the card details and send it to the server where it is decrypted.

3 things have to be remembered here

1. Google wants all the Internet to be run on HTTPs. So if your website is having a HTTPS version than definitely you will get a plus point from Google
2. There are many companies who provide this SSL certificate but only some of them very reliable like Lets Encrypt. Other small companies which provides this certificate generally gives the warning on the browser that the information may be stolen by attackers. So rethink before taking SSL certificate. Try to take it from established company like Lets Encrypt
3. If there is any link pointing to HTTP on your webpage, than your website will still give insecure warning and you may look untrustworthy.
