It took me about 3 moths to get into DMOZ once and when my site went down, it also disappeared from the ODP.

It can take anything from 1 day to 1 year. It all depends on the reviewer that's in charge of that section, which always makes me wonder why people still want to submit to DMOZ, it's an aging dinosaur which no one really cares about anymore.

Sometimes no one treat your submission and it could sit un-processed for ages- There are subcategories with no moderators...
Anyway I would still go for DMOZ submissions It's about 10 minutes work and if the site which I submit is accepted- I get al link from a very trusted sites and thats what's important (the Trust that follows from that link...)

It may take one day a year, nothing. Why people still want to submit to DMOZ is in charge of all its sections according to critics, I always wonder, the truth is that there is no longer interested in aging is a dinosaur.

Correct, It's one day more and Dmoz will close permanently.

When you do this, the websites becomes listed and immediately active in the directory. The total time to become a DMOZ editor, from beginning to end, is probably 3 or 4 hours. To apply for new categories is usually 1 hour or less since you already tackled the learning curve.

Well, the quick answer is that it depends. It depends on which category and how active the editors are in that category. If you want to add your site to the "right" category it can take about a month. If you want to add your site to the "wrong" category, I've read in the DMOZ forum about people waiting for 2-3 years!
