When back in Google tell us that directory links are good, everyone start creating directories. Even there were directories of directories. But now Google tell us that directory is spammy and don't go there. I understand the reasoning but what about yellowpages, or local business directories? they are still the same... directory. isn't ? so what is the criteria of being a Good directory and bad directory.

Google hate directories because they consider them as spam sites with very less content. Hence directories are very rarely crawled and indexed in Google.

In order to protect our users and to maintain the integrity of our search results, Google tries its best to keep hаcked content out of our search results. hаcked content is often of poor quality, and may be designed to mislead users or infect their computer or device.

Google disdain registries since they consider them as spam destinations with extremely less satisfied. Subsequently registries are seldom slithered and listed in Google.
