You dont need to mantain it, you need ot improve it.
You should make sure that the "next step" is clear for your prospect.
If you have a lot of text, or a big image, thats bad. Make it simple, with big CTA.

Bounce rate is an important factor for your website. You can reduce the bounce rate by a good content, less number of widgets on your homepage and a quick loading time for your webpage.

The most powerful way to reduce bounce rate is to adjust it by calculating the time spent on a page.

I can share with you some great ideas how it is possible to improve a bounce rate:
- add links to more pages within your website in your content;
- include some links such as a product manual, guides on how to use the product to achieve a specific result;
- if your design includes a sidebar that remains throughout your website, you can include links on that sidebar that everyone would enjoy;
- improve your content to keep the visitors on your page.

First, how are your visitors getting to your page? If organically, what searches did they use? If your page is ranking highly, it may be doing so for the wrong searches and when they click, they quickly find it's not what they wanted.

Maybe all is good and you want visitors to go to other pages. Are you making this easy for them? Is there a reason for them to do so? Think of Wikipedia. They have links all over the place and making it easy to read about other subjects. If they didn't do that, visitors would read, get what they need and get out. I'm sure however that a large percentage of people click through on many other links on the original page they landed on.

Sometimes a high bounce rate is nothing to worry about. If your page is to sell something, a 85% bounce rate means that 15% did go to another page. Was it the checkout? If so, that would be good but always good to try to convince more to buy.

Here are some ways to do this:
- attract the right visitors (choose the right keywords to match your content, create multiple landing pages with unique content and keywords for your different buyer personas,  write attractive and useful meta descriptions for search engine users, improve targeting of online advertising campaigns);
- enhance usability (make your  text readable through sensible organization and the use of larger fonts, bulleted lists, white space, good color contrast and large headlines);
- speed up page load time (use title or no self-loading multimedia content, set external links to open in new browser windows, place static ads to sides and avoid pop-ups and self-loading multimedia ads);
-  provide quality content (use clear headers and subheads, tailor content to intended visitors, make your content error free, include a clear call-to-action and obvious links to next steps).
