what do you think about edu backlinks?does it still have the some seo weight after penguin update..I found 2 websites academia.edu and educause.edu one pr 7 and other pr 8 website..here we can post articles and get contextual backlinks have any of you tried??Is it dofollow?? do you think creating a link wheel with edu blogs is good?? please help me out...

Sorry Melina but you're wrong there. Nothing will flag your website faster than an irrelevant .edu or .gov link (resulting in a penalty).

My advice is to stay far, FAR away from edu and gov links, unless they're EXTREMELY relevant to the page you're linking to.

It can be said about almost every link - donors should be relevant. Edu sites are very meaningful, but not all. Be sure Search engines already know how to understand that Edu site sells links.

Always .Edu and .Gov links are so standard and good quality links of a website, if we can get these links to your website its so great and your website have some standard positions in Google.
