Hello friends,

How effective is guest posting for ranking?

There are 2 distinct benefits of guest posting:

The referral traffic you receive from the post
The SEO Benefit from the link

Guest posting is an excellent way to get links. But you need to make sure to post valuable content if you want to be accepted on any website that would be strong enough to push your rankings.

So make sure to have a look at the website's metrics before taking the trouble of making content for it.

Guest-posting traffics and ranks depends on your content and the guest post website authority.

If you are writing low-quality guest post on blogs that do not have any domain authority and your purpose is to have backlinks from those domains, then guest posts will not help you.

If you are writing high-quality, authoritative essay on a major website having good domain authority and ranks and is in your industry niche, then guest posts are important for referral traffic as well as ranks.

Ther really are good source of back links from very different root domains. and another thing is that if site has a good amount of users that you can easily get some referral traffic.

Guest posting is important to generate do-follow backlinks which in turn generates traffic.
Important thing to note is that not all blogs allow do-follow backlinks (only 10-20% do).
This creates a confusion whether blog/guest posting works or not, many people including myself have experienced difficulties while doing guest posting. Usually the links generated are of loq quality i.e their Link Influence Score is very low.
A thing to note is that no-follow backlinks are good for long term backlinks.

To conclude, guest posting is not as effective as it is pointed out in forums.
