1. The first method, hence forth known as Method One, is to use the .htaccess file to block the bots that visit your site.
2. The second viable method for blocking bots again uses your .htaccess file, but blocks by IP address instead.

when you block your spam traffic you need to clean out existing spam to remove spam from your existing GA report, you can create a custom segment and how to add filters to block out referral spam then block common spam referrers and block third-party traffic. you should do this and you can block your spam traffic.

Spambots regularly create reports and send spam messages with them. Web hosts and website administrators have reacted by banning spammers, pointing to a continuous struggle between them and spammers in which spammers find new ways to avoid the bans and anti-spam programs, and hosts check these methods.

Select "Admin".
Under "View", select "Filter".
Click on "Add Filter" and give the filter a name.
Click on "Custom" and "Exclude".
Select "Campaign Source" as your "Filter Field" and enter the domains you want to exclude in the box.

Website referral spam has been a problem for several years and this form of artificial traffic to websites cannot be considered as real visitors who are genuinely interested in your products and services. This can lead to slow page loading times which then results in poor user experience and frustrated genuine visitors.

The next best thing to do is to follow these ways to block spam SEO traffic in Google Analytics-
1. Filter your Analytics traffic.
2. Block the known bots and spiders.
3. Add your own spam referrers.
4. Setup a bad referrer filter.
5. Block traffic from specific countries.
6. Ban bad bots.
