Which site has the most potential?  Is higher DA always better?  Site 1 has lower DA but more visitors.

Site 1: Domain Authority

Site 1: Last 90 days

The first site above is an authority site on a specific topic but I no longer care about that specific topic and want to rank for other things.

The second is a news site that had millions of dollars spent on high quality content before I bought it and has much less visitors.

Site 2: Domain Authority

Site 2: Last 90 days

Based on these stats do you see a good reason to choose one over the other to focus on growing?

Thanks.

When choosing between Site 1 and Site 2 to focus on growing, there are a few factors to consider. While Domain Authority (DA) can be an important metric, it is not the only one to consider.

If Site 1 has more visitors and is already established as an authority site on a specific topic, it may have potential to continue attracting visitors interested in that specific topic. However, if you no longer care about that specific topic and want to rank for other things, it might not be the best choice for you.

On the other hand, Site 2, with its high-quality content and previous investment, may have greater potential to attract traffic and rank for a wider range of topics. However, it currently has fewer visitors, which may require additional effort to increase traffic.

Ultimately, the decision depends on your specific goals and the direction you want to take your website. Consider factors such as your target audience, the content you want to create, and the resources you have available for growing either site. It may also be worth assessing the potential to reposition or rebrand Site 1 if you believe it could attract a different audience or cater to new topics.

few additional factors to consider:

1. Niche Relevance: Evaluate how relevant the specific topic of Site 1 is to your long-term goals. If it aligns with your desired direction, even though you are no longer personally interested, it may still be beneficial to leverage its existing authority and visitor base.

2. Content Quality: Assess the quality of the content on both sites. While Site 2 has had significant investment in high-quality content, it's important to evaluate the potential for improvement on Site 1 as well. High-quality, relevant content is crucial for attracting and engaging visitors.

3. Conversion Potential: Consider the potential for conversions on both sites. Even if Site 2 has fewer visitors currently, its high-quality content and previous investment might result in higher conversion rates once traffic increases. Analyzing visitor behavior and conversion metrics can provide insights into which site has better conversion potential.

4. Long-Term Strategy: Determine your long-term strategy for both sites. Consider factors such as SEO efforts, content creation plans, marketing channels, and potential monetization strategies. Evaluate which site aligns better with these strategies and offers more potential for growth and profitability.

By carefully considering these additional aspects, you should be able to make a more informed decision about which site to focus on growing. Remember that there is no one-size-fits-all answer, and the best choice will depend on your unique circumstances and goals.
