It seems like the SEO bible for beginners is it worth parting with ones hard earned cash or is there a cheaper and more better way to learn SEO ?? Come on guys help me out here!

If you want to do some seo you must learn and read seo books.
It is not obligatory to buy them. You can find free (not legal) copies in the net ;)

As SEO books are also helpful but I would like to recommend trying to learn online where you can learn a number of new stuff regarding SEO.

Learning from SEO books is a good option but I would suggest you learn online where you can learn different new stuff daily regarding SEO.

There are hundreds of video tutorials available online & you've got beginner's guide by Moz to start with. You don't need to purchase any SEO Book!!
