Can no-follow link give backlink?

Basically Google not crawled the link with nofollow tag but it can be useful for the site in visitor point of view. All links are important including no follow links they give you votes from these sites and can send traffic to your site depending on the anchor text you use. The more sites/links you have pointing back to your site the more likely your site will increase its ranking.

sometimes yes no-follow link give backlink, If the page are crawling by google robot then you get backlink.
It doesn't increase your PR.

Generally nofollow links can not give backlinks. Only increase traffic through the nofollow links.

The Google's never  crawled the nofollow tag therefore nofollow links are not helping to keyword optimization. otherwise nofollow links are only on used for traffic.

No follow link can generate traffic for any website but it can't give you bank links, for back links you have to make Submission in Do follow Sites.

Google don't consider nofollow as backlinks but other search engine like yahoo is consider nofollow as backlinks.
