Comment spam is a form of link spam that has arisen in web pages that allow dynamic user editing such as wikis, blogs, and guestbooks. It can be problematic because agents can be written that automatically randomly select a user edited web page, such as a Wikipedia article, and add spamming links.

Spamming is one of the big problems for the search engines as this affects the natural results negatively. Search engine algorithms are updated to control the spamming and this is effective too as they panelize the websites pages which are ranking well with the help of unnatural link building.

The problem with spamming is that they are so annoying. The content that's submitted often time don't have anything to do with the nature of where it's posted. People use that kind of technique to manipulate search engines, so that they can get better results.
