Google AdWords and Google AdSense are two different advertising platforms offered by Google.

Google AdWords is an advertising platform for businesses to create and run ads on Google's search engine and its advertising network. Advertisers can create text ads, display ads, video ads, and more, and target specific keywords, demographics, locations, and devices. Advertisers pay for these ads on a pay-per-click (PPC) basis, meaning they only pay when someone clicks on their ad.

On the other hand, Google AdSense is a program for website publishers to earn money by displaying targeted ads on their websites. Website owners can sign up for AdSense and place ad code on their websites, and Google will display relevant ads to their visitors. When visitors click on or view these ads, the website owner earns a portion of the ad revenue.

Here's a more detailed comparison between Google AdWords and AdSense:

1. Purpose:
   - Google AdWords: The main purpose of Google AdWords is to allow businesses to create and run advertising campaigns across Google's search network, display network, YouTube, and other partner sites. Advertisers bid on keywords and pay for their ads to be displayed to users who search for those keywords or fit specific targeting criteria.
   - Google AdSense: Google AdSense, on the other hand, is designed for website owners and publishers to earn money by displaying targeted ads on their websites. AdSense serves as a platform for website owners to monetize their online content by displaying relevant ads and earning revenue from clicks or impressions.

2. Users:
   - Google AdWords: Advertisers, marketers, and businesses use Google AdWords to create and manage their online advertising campaigns and reach potential customers.
   - Google AdSense: Website owners, bloggers, and content creators use Google AdSense to generate revenue by displaying ads on their websites and engaging with the audience.

3. Revenue Model:
   - Google AdWords: Advertisers using AdWords pay Google when users click on their ads (pay-per-click model) or when their ads are shown (impressions or viewable CPM model).
   - Google AdSense: Website owners and publishers earn money through AdSense based on the clicks or impressions of the ads displayed on their websites. They receive a portion of the ad revenue generated by Google.

4. Control and Management:
   - Google AdWords: Advertisers have full control over their advertising campaigns, including budget management, ad creation, targeting options, bidding strategies, and performance tracking.
   - Google AdSense: Website owners have some control over the types of ads that appear on their sites, but the selection and serving of ads are primarily managed by Google based on the content and user behavior on the website.

Google AdWords, now known as Google Ads, allows businesses to create and run targeted advertisements on Google's search engine and its advertising network. Advertisers can set their own budget, choose specific keywords to target, and create various types of ads, such as text ads, display ads, video ads, and app promotion ads. They can also track the performance of their ads and make adjustments to optimize their campaigns.

On the other hand, Google AdSense is designed for website owners and publishers who want to earn money by displaying ads on their websites. Once approved for the AdSense program, website owners can place ad code on their site, and Google will automatically display relevant ads based on the site's content and visitors. Website owners earn revenue when visitors interact with these ads through clicks or impressions.

In essence, Google Ads (formerly AdWords) is a platform for advertisers to create and manage ad campaigns, while Google AdSense is a platform for website owners to monetize their online content by displaying ads. Both platforms are part of Google's advertising ecosystem, but they cater to different user groups with distinct goals.

Google adwords displays your ads in Google search.
Google Adsense displays your ads in one of the site in Google Display Network.
One thing I note from putting ad sense is that the PPC for ad sense is nowhere near the bid in adwords.

The Google AdWords program enables you to create advertisements which will appear on relevant Google search results pages and our network of partner sites. The Google AdSense program differs in that it delivers Google AdWords ads to individuals' websites. Google then pays web publishers for the ads displayed on their site based on user clicks on ads or on ad impressions, depending on the type of ad.
