You are not able to simply state that one is better than the other.  You have to use both so you have a variety of links.  Saying one method is better than the other is not applicable, you have to use all available methods for gain links back to you site, including both, however, article and directory submission are the oldest forms of Seo, and not much of an impact on search engine results.

I think it it is concept about directory submission and article submission comparison.Directory submission and article both are useful both method get back links but you should do these activities with unique ip address.

I think you are dealing with Directory submission and writing and submitting articles. First modify your name which is wrong. If you are dealing with listing and writing and submitting articles than both methods to get inbound links are very easy, important and faster, but you should do these activities in do-follow internet directories and try to send fresh and original content and don't try to do new spamming.

Dear Friend,

There are mainly 3 Types of Directory.

1) Paid Directory
2) Free Directory and
3) Reciprocal Directory

If you are following  FREE DIRECTORY submission then you gate 10% - 20% Ratio of Submission.

But if you are doing Article then their is a 40% Approval Ratio.

Both Technique is used for generating the back link.

Both are useful but Article will give you fast response.
