Domain age is really important for Page Ranking..It plays an important role..If your domains is old, it is rated as high ranking..The domain age can be calculated based on the domain creation & expiration date..You can get the domain age by using the newbielink:http://www.whoisxy.com/ [nonactive]  and this is the whois lookup tool which provides the full details about the domain name.

No its not true Matt Cutt said that in video people think google gives importance to domain age but its not true.Google gives importance to quality content and high quality link.
