Hi I am Jessica Brown. I am currently optimizing a site, K2prestigecarhire.com. All keywords were in good ranking for last 2 month but suddenly they are now all dropped. I don't know what is the exact reason Please Anybody let me know.

Well, since the business is local and depends on Google's local searches, I think the Pigeon update is to blame. Since Pigeon was launched, a lot of fluctuations are going around in local searches. Sites go up and down, no one really knows what's really going on. The thing is Google is still "playing" with this update.

The only thing you can do for now is to optimize the site in the best way possible, especially on-page. For example, after a quick peek, I saw you are using over-optimized anchor texts and/or exact-match anchor texts for your internal linking; that's not good. Also, the homepage content is too small, not enough space to add the keyword...

You can find out more about the Pigeon update and how to optimize a site for local searches, here - http://searchengineland.com/library/google/google-pigeon-update.

There are two possibilities:
1. It's a google dance. If this is the case, you should just ignore it and keep on building quality backlinks. The rankings will stablize after few weeks.
2. You built backlinks too fast and the backlinks are of low quality. Quality over quantity these days; you don't need to build hundreds of backlinks a day; instead, build fewer backlinks, but make sure those backlinks are put on relevant high PR resources.

Well Jessica, I just checked page source of your main page. You are ranking for only specific keywords i.e. "Prestige Car Rental" and "Prestige Car Hire". You are not ranking for generic keywords i.e. "Sports Car Rental", "Luxury Car Rental" and "Sports Car Hire". On the positive side, you are still ranking for a generic keyword i.e. "Luxury Car Hire".

You are ranking for specific keywords because your URL contains 2 words i.e. "prestigecar" whereas generic keywords are far more competitive than specific keywords and so you are not ranking for these keywords.

In order to improve your business or sales, you need to focus on generic keywords. To beat your competitors in SERPs, your website content should be unique and engaging enough to turn visitors into potential customers. Try to get relevant quality backlinks as much as you can. If you are still confused about your SEO strategy, the best option is to monitor your competitor backlinks. According to me, your top competitor should be avisprestige.com

First wait for few days, will be it is Google dance, although Google didn't updated any algorithm change.
If still your ranking is not improving, then check your back links by back links checker tools & analyze every tool. Check for every spam linking & disavow those links.

Hello Jessica, I have seen your website and found out some issues in it. As you may have heard about Humming bird update that content is King and its not like after that update you should focus on your content. It is always important to tell people that what you have and what you offer. So have some content first.

Then, comes the keyword part. You are targeting website through broad keywords. If you are providing your services in UK only then focus more locally. The Pigeon Update suggest every business that only. So use keywords like, Luxury car hire UK or something like that. Include local places if you want.

Some more problems I have looked out are as follows:
1. Your website opens on both on www and without it. That means it is not redirecting to a single page and Google treat it as two websites.(So duplicacy is there, resolve it ASAP).
2. Robots.txtfile is missing.
3. You are using toooooo many H1 and H3 tags. Cut H1 to just 1 and H3 tags to a decent number.
4. You have to create more backlinks.

Make these changes and keep up the good work. It will surely help.
