I have been submitting my website and new pages as well as blogs to social book-marking sites. However, I have only about 20 of them and keep submitting over and over.

It is good for new sites but old sites are not very effective.

What is the best effective ways about building links for websites?

Any advice is appreciated.

Forum posting and blog commenting are very effective strategy to get quality backlinks. Try also directory submission but still is is the best to create article about your niche.

social bookmarking is not the best to generate back links as the most of the links from these sites are 'nofollow'. they are the best for generating traffic
