Ranking And Traffic For High Bounce Rate Words

Hello all,

I have a client whose site has pages with words/phrases that are related to his business, but not his current primary focus.

The trouble is that his site has been up for many years and has great rankings for these phrases, but when people get to his

site on those words, they quickly bounce out.

We have done SEO on the site to shift the focus to more important keywords, however, those ranking are slow in coming. I have

also reviewed Webmaster Tools to be sure that Google sees the new, more important, phrases on the site.

Does anyone have recommendations on how to lower the bounce rates, or get better rankings/traffic for the more relevant

keywords currently on the site?

The best way to decrease bounce rates is check the page and redesign it and place unique and fresh content..

Analyze the keywords from where the audience is coming up. Notice the keywords that are leading maximum bounce ratio... and try making separate pages for them (or modify content so that audience from those keywords find your content interesting)

A few more things that can help you reduce your bounce rate are:
- Avoid having too many ads and hyper attractive banners on your site
- Make site navigation as easy as possible
- Cut back your main page down to essentials
- Make sure you install the analytics code on all the pages of your website
- Include quality content and highlight your best posts above the fold
- Improve your website’s loading speed
- Optimize 404 pages
- Write a tag-line or blurb for your main page
- Add Polls To Get Visitor’s Opinions & Keep Them Busy:
- Make your site easy on the eye with mild graphics and layout.
