How was the caffeine update for you ? good or bad ?

And do you think it's fully be rolled out ?

Most of my rankings actually benefitted greatly and I even got a few previously banned domains back :)

I think according to matt cutts blog it was supposed to be rolled out straight after the christmas holidays, we're obivously well passed that time now. And I did see a major change in my SERP rankings back in Feb 2010...

So yeah I think it's live and kicking!!!

Hmm guys can you explain a little more about how Google Caffiene works and what it is?  I'm wondering if I would have use for it for my low traffic gaming site.

Google caffeine is not something you so much use but a major update to the way google works and indexes sites. Matt cutts talked about it being fully rolled out after the Dec 2009 christmas holidays.

I believe it's been fully rolled out and the recent massive changes to the Google search engine look and experience hints at this even more. I saw my sites rankings drop quite abit as we went into Jan 2010, but they then fully re-adjusted after I believe caffeine was fully rolled out.

Hope that helps!  ;D

I think Google Caffeine was a response to the Bing search engine.  Google wants to 1 up Bing after it's huge recent growth.

Caffeine was a new web indexing system.

This new system allowed Google to crawl and store data far more efficiently.

In fact, by Google's own account they were able to not only increase their index but provide far fresher results (50 percent fresher by their estimates).

Hello
"A moderate intake of coffee may enhance weight loss, cognitive function, and alertness. Caffeine may have a negative impact on pregnancy, fertility, glucose control, and other aspects of health. Energy drinks can contain high levels of caffeine but are unlikely to be hazardous unless consumed with аlcohol."

Hello mangoface,

Thanks for such a good question

Most named Google updates have dealt with the algorithm in some form. Be it Florida, Panda, Penguin, Hummingbird, or the Fred Update – they all set the conditions for ranking in one way or another. Google Caffeine therefore only fits into the series of these names to a limited extent. It was a complete change in internal processes and processing that ultimately led to indexing. There were many reasons for this. For one, Google had to determine for itself how quickly the Internet and the way its content is changing. On the other hand, growth itself has developed much more rapidly than the search engine itself suspected.

The Google Caffeine Update was mainly necessary because the basic dynamics of the web changed in 2009 and 2010. Instead of static websites, which were rarely changed, there was new content every day, every hour and every minute. Live updates and dynamic content had become popular and provided new information for users. At this point in time, the process for the index was designed to ensure that the pages on the Internet changed only at long intervals, if at all.

Personally for me google caffeine update was pretty good. i had this feeling that finally hard work has paid me off!

I was supposed to roll out early, but it is still going pretty uptight and great. So I don't think it is going tp roll out anytime soon.

Same had happened with me, most of my rankings benefitted greatly  :)
