For some reason my site gets more links on yahoo when compared to google. In fact most sites seem have more links in yahoo and less in google. I guess that's cause google has higher standards. Is there anyone knows more about this?

from my experience I can also tell that yahoo is usually more resposive than google. But the problem is that most of my traffic that comes in, comes from google. That is why I don't depend on yahoo as much.

Google not displaying all the links you build for your site, Google follow some strict strategy to count backward links. Yahoo spiders are too fast and it crawls almost links, that's why yahoo links are more than Google.

It's not uncommon for websites to have more backlinks from Yahoo when compared to Google. This difference can be due to various factors, including the way search engines crawl and index websites, the sources of backlinks, and the algorithms they use to rank websites.

Google is known for having a more sophisticated and stringent ranking algorithm, which takes into account the quality and relevance of backlinks, among other factors. Google's focus on quality ensures that not all backlinks are considered equal. Yahoo, on the other hand, may have a different approach or include a wider range of sources when counting backlinks.

In terms of industry standards, it's essential to keep in mind that Yahoo's search engine is not as widely used as Google. Therefore, the volume and quality of backlinks from Yahoo might not have the same impact on your website's visibility and rankings as backlinks from Google.

If you want to boost your site's performance on Google, consider adhering to Google's Webmaster Guidelines. This includes creating valuable, user-focused content, optimizing on-page elements, and ensuring a positive user experience. Building organic and relevant backlinks from authoritative sites can also enhance your site's credibility in Google's eyes.

Remember, each search engine has its own algorithms and criteria, so a balanced approach to SEO that aligns with the guidelines of major search engines is key. If you have specific concerns or issues with your site's performance, conducting an SEO audit or consulting with an SEO professional can provide tailored insights and recommendations.
