HELP! Destination pages ranking very well, Index ranking very poor.

Hey!

I am looking for some suggestions as to why this has occurred...

The Site ( newbielink:http://mobiletyrefittinglondon.co.uk [nonactive])is only 2/3 weeks old and i got it indexed in just 3 days from the point it was registered.  The site now has just over 300 pages in total and nearly all are in Google's index.

Destination pages are ranking very well but the index page is not ranking well at all. It went into the index at number 4 for the key phrase 'mobile tyre fitting london', dropped to about 50, went up to 7, dropped to 23, went up to 5, and has now dropped to 38.

Its a good thing that your inner pages are ranking well.

You can use reputation of these pages  to boost the ranking f your home page. Link your inner pages to your home page, that should help in ranking of your home page.

Also, optimize your home page for better visibility.

Thanks for that. All the inner pages link to the home page already and the home page is pretty heavily optimised already. It was ranking no 2 for its target keyword yesterday, back down to 39 today. i've already done some pretty serious linking and i'm just waiting for that to index.

Check your robots.txt files if they are blocking the crawlers by any chance.

It's sitting at number 10 at present. I can't see any reason for it fluctuating so much, i have never had a site do this before, it normally goes straight in and sits there.
