I'm brand new in the SEO field working/training while looking to learn SEO basics.  As I'm working on understanding google's top ranking factors; I searched MOZ's 2015 rankings study where I found that the top 2 items were domain and page level links, within the results the top factors behind them were number of links, authority and age of domain/pages.  As I had a meeting with my boss he a different view where he indicated that keyword in the domain name is number one factor in domain along with authority and number of links.  My question would be is my boss' information outdated where number of authoritative links is more important than keyword in domain which MOZ ranked 7, or is MOZ's info outdated and name in domain should be number one factor.  Thank you for your help.
