How can I boost my focus keyword to rank higher?

Hey guys! My first post here and new to SEO, hopefully you can help me to understand how everything works based on this article I just published: newbielink:http://"https://www.chrisontour84.de/how-to/keep-travel-costs-low/" [nonactive]

So this post is about budget traveling and the focus keyword I choose is "keep travel costs low", which appears 3 times in my 2000 words article.

My main question is how to rank on the first page now for that keyword. I understand it takes time and good content to get ranked, strangely the very first results for that keyword are Forum posts that I have created to promote my new article! Can anyone tell me how it is possible to rank #1 and #2 for that keyword within a few hours?

I would however like to rank up high with my own websites to get direct links in from Gooogle search rather than the indirect links from the post I did in the forums.

Getting high value links back from big and famous websites with high traffic is obvisouly the best thing. The second best would be to get links from other blogs. 2 questions on that:

- writing useful comments with a link to my site mostly is done with nofollow links and they are not helping too much I suppose?
- I should try to make relationships with other bloggers and make them link to my content. Does that still help?

Now I have also posted this article in a bunch or Facebook groups with a lot of good feedback so far and over 100 shares. Seems like they got resetted after I shortened my slug.

What else could I do to achieve a higherr ranking? I would also like to rank higher for other focus keywords such as "Budget travel", "travel cheap" etc etc - they all mean the same but as I understand, you can only have 1 focus keyword in your article. Or should I for instance change 2 of the 3 "keep travel costs low" into one of the other variations to get a better reach?

Hopefully someone can help me to understand and troubleshoot on this example and Im curious if I will actually rank higher! Once I fully understood how it works, I will hopefully have a good SEO setup for all my upcoming articles!

Thanks so much,
Chris

I wonder if your keyword was ranked #1 only on your own Google search page or not. Because in the way I understand how Google works, the first result you get is properly the web you frequently visit. So if you've just posted your comment or something containing your keyword on some page and then query for that keyword, there's good chance that the results you would get are biased.

Just one small question to clear things out as I'm also a newbie in SEO :) Good luck to you and your business.

I tried to search on "my google" with your targeted keywords and your site rank #1 instead of Tripadvisor. Normally, when you post your content on a forum, the post can rank higher than your orginal post after some time. But, it's good for your post. There are some reasons for that such as the forum's domain age, DA,PA or something else. Just keep doing that, you'll get good result!

"Dwell time" is the amount of time visitors spend on your website and it can affect SEO ranking.

When you provide useful content, visitors tend to stay longer on your website to consume the information and therefore increase the dwell time.

I know that Google algorithm is in favor of good content, but I was wondering if there's a way to know that my Google search results are biased or not. Do you have any idea?

Hey guys! So now my post shows up as #1 out of a huge amount of hits. I still think something is wrong though since i only got 30 hits from google search in the last 7 days. I would imagine that number to be much higher as #1 ranked for "how to keep travel cost low" keyword?

Well it is hard to get ranked in a few hours, but your best bet is to have both your Meta Title and <H1> both include "Keep Travel Costs Low" or a close variation of it. Then Use the Google Submit To Index Tool in Google Search Console to have google index your article faster.

Make sure you always check in incognito mode. If not, google will most of the time display sites you have visited on the first page.
Also, these are authority sites and if that keyword is not in the title/url of most sites then yes it will pop quite quickly.
