I am changing the name of my company and therefore i have to change domain name to reflect new brand. my Website has been around for many years and has hundreds of links pointing to it. How can i minimize any loss of traffic or search engine rankings once we go live with the new domain?

Make 301 redirect from older domain to new one if only name changes. If structure is changed you are to make redirect from each page to new one.
People say ~30% of linkbuiding profit will be lost
