These are great suggestions, everyone.  I think that, as EJAS Nathan said, when you have someone else write content for your sites, it's really important to make sure it isn't plagiarized.  Copyscape is a start, but sometimes there is no substitute for a human editor.  I mostly work on local sites like http://www.elkhartsnowremoval.com/, and when we are in a pinch for time, sometimes we hire third party writers, but now we are in the process of revising content to really make sites feel local and not generic, instead of just not being plagiarized.
