When creating a website, especially one focused on a specific niche like used cars, choosing a domain name that includes relevant keywords can be beneficial for several reasons:

1. **SEO (Search Engine Optimization):** A domain name with keywords related to your website's content can help improve its search engine ranking. Search engines often consider the keywords in the domain when determining the relevance of a website to specific search queries.

2. **User-Friendly:** A domain name that reflects the content of your website makes it more user-friendly and easier for visitors to understand what your site is about.

3. **Brand Identity:** It can also help in establishing a strong brand identity, as the domain name itself communicates the core focus of your website.

4. **Memorability:** A domain name that includes keywords can be easier for people to remember, which can lead to more direct traffic.

So, your examples, like "TomsJonsonsUsedCars.com" or "UsedCarsInMyTown.com," are good choices if you're creating a website about used cars. Just be sure to check the availability of such domain names and consider other factors like domain extensions (.com, .net, .org) and the uniqueness of your chosen name to avoid trademark issues.

here are some additional tips and considerations when choosing a domain name for a website focused on used cars or any niche:

1. **Keep it Short and Simple:** Shorter domain names are generally easier to remember and type. Avoid overly long or complex names that might confuse potential visitors.

2. **Avoid Hyphens and Numbers:** Hyphens and numbers can make domain names harder to remember and communicate verbally. It's usually best to stick with letters only.

3. **Include Local Keywords:** If your used car website targets a specific location or region, consider including local keywords in the domain name. For example, "DenverUsedCars.com" or "BayAreaAutoSales.com" can help attract local traffic.

4. **Check Domain Availability:** Before settling on a domain name, ensure that it's available for registration. You can use domain registration services or tools to check availability.

5. **Consider Branding:** While including keywords is valuable, also think about how the domain name will fit with your branding and the overall image you want to convey.

6. **Think About Future Expansion:** If you might expand your website's content beyond used cars in the future, consider a domain name that allows for such flexibility.

7. **Trademark and Copyright Checks:** Verify that your chosen domain name doesn't infringe on any trademarks or copyrights, which could lead to legal issues.

8. **Social Media Availability:** Check if the domain name is available on major social media platforms. Having consistent branding across your website and social media profiles is important.

9. **Domain Extension:** While ".com" is the most common and widely recognized domain extension, you can also consider other extensions like ".net," ".org," or country-specific ones if they make sense for your website.

10. **Ask for Feedback:** Before finalizing your choice, seek feedback from friends, colleagues, or potential website visitors to ensure the domain name is clear and memorable.

11. **Avoid Trademarked Terms:** Be cautious about using trademarked terms or brand names in your domain, as this could lead to legal issues. It's best to create a unique and original domain name.

12. **Use Keywords Strategically:** While including keywords in your domain is beneficial, don't overstuff it with too many keywords. Aim for a balance between being descriptive and concise.

13. **Memorable and Pronounceable:** Choose a domain name that is easy to pronounce and remember. Avoid using complex or unusual spellings that might confuse visitors.

14. **Unique and Unforgettable:** Strive for a unique and memorable domain name that stands out from the competition. A distinctive domain is more likely to leave a lasting impression.

15. **Consider Future Trends:** Think about the long-term relevance of your domain name. Trends change, so choose a name that will remain meaningful and effective over time.

16. **Research Competitors:** Check out the domain names of your competitors to ensure that your chosen name doesn't closely resemble theirs. You want to distinguish your brand.

17. **Avoid Double Meanings:** Be cautious of domain names that can be interpreted in unintended or humorous ways. What may seem innocent to you might have a different connotation to others.

18. **Domain Privacy:** Consider using domain privacy protection to keep your personal contact information private. Many domain registrars offer this service.

19. **Renewal Fees:** Keep in mind that domain names require annual renewal, so be aware of the renewal fees associated with your chosen domain registrar.

20. **Think Globally:** If you plan to expand your website's reach beyond your local area, consider a domain name that has a broader appeal and avoids location-specific terms.

21. **SEO-Friendly URLs:** Structure your website's URLs to be SEO-friendly, meaning they are clean, descriptive, and include relevant keywords. This can benefit your site's search engine ranking.

22. **Test for Typo Errors:** When you've chosen a domain name, double-check for potential typos or misspellings that could lead visitors to a different website.

23. **Check Social Media Handles:** Ensure that social media handles (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) are available for your chosen domain name. Consistency across all online platforms is important for branding.

24. **Keyword Research:** Conduct keyword research to identify the most relevant and frequently searched terms related to used cars in your niche. Incorporate these keywords into your domain name if possible.

25. **Avoid Special Characters:** Special characters, symbols, or non-standard characters can lead to confusion and are generally not recommended in domain names.

26. **Consider Brandable Names:** While including keywords is valuable, don't forget the importance of a brandable name that can set your website apart. It should be easy to remember and evoke trust.

27. **Think About User Intent:** Consider the intent of your target audience when choosing keywords for your domain name. Are they looking for information, buying used cars, or comparing prices? Tailor your name accordingly.

28. **Test for Mobile Friendliness:** Check how your domain name appears on mobile devices. It should be easily readable and not too long to fit on smaller screens.

29. **Avoid Copyrighted Material:** Steer clear of using copyrighted images, logos, or content in your domain name. It's essential to respect intellectual property rights.

30. **Domain Age:** If possible, consider purchasing an older domain name with a good history, as it may already have some search engine credibility.

31. **Avoid Trends:** While trendy words or phrases may seem appealing at first, they can quickly become outdated. Opt for timeless and evergreen elements in your domain.

32. **Consult with Others:** Seek feedback from friends, colleagues, or professionals in web development or marketing. Their insights can be valuable in making your final decision.

33. **Domain Registrar Reputation:** Choose a reputable domain registrar with a history of good customer service and fair pricing.

34. **Plan for SSL:** Ensure that your chosen domain supports SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption, especially if you plan to collect user data or process transactions on your website.

35. **Backup Domain Names:** Consider registering variations of your chosen domain name to protect your brand. This prevents others from using similar names that could divert traffic.

36. **Domain Length:** While shorter domain names are generally easier to remember, don't sacrifice clarity for brevity. It's better to have a slightly longer domain that clearly conveys your website's purpose.

37. **Domain Auctions:** Explore domain auction websites where you might find valuable domain names that are already registered but available for purchase from their current owners.

38. **Avoid Legal Issues:** Conduct a thorough trademark search to ensure your chosen domain name doesn't infringe on any existing trademarks. This can save you from potential legal complications.

39. **Use a Domain Name Generator:** Online tools and domain name generators can help you brainstorm and come up with creative domain name ideas based on your keywords and preferences.

40. **Localized Names:** If your used car business serves specific regions, consider including city or region names in your domain to emphasize your local presence. For example, "ChicagoUsedCarsOnline.com."

41. **Check for History:** Investigate the history of the domain you're interested in. Ensure it wasn't previously associated with spam or blacklisted by search engines.

42. **Domain Name Extensions:** While ".com" is the most popular and trusted domain extension, consider other extensions like ".net," ".org," or industry-specific extensions if they align with your brand.

43. **Avoid Abbreviations:** Abbreviations can be confusing, and they may not convey your website's purpose effectively. Opt for full, clear words whenever possible.

44. **Domain Name Meaning:** Ensure that the words in your domain name don't have multiple meanings that could be misconstrued by visitors.

45. **Competitor Analysis:** Research your competitors' domain names and strategies. This can give you insights into what works in your industry and help you differentiate your brand.

46. **Future-Proofing:** Think about the long-term goals of your website. Will it stay focused on used cars, or might it expand into related areas? Choose a domain name that accommodates potential growth.

47. **Protect Your Brand:** Once you've selected your domain name, consider registering similar domain variations to prevent competitors or domain squatters from capitalizing on your brand.

48. **Renewal Reminders:** Set up domain renewal reminders or automatic renewals to avoid accidentally losing your domain due to expiration.

49. **Feedback from Others:** Get feedback from people outside your project or industry to gauge how well your domain name resonates with a broader audience.

50. **Keep It Timeless:** Aim for a domain name that will remain relevant and timeless even as industry trends and technology evolve.

Having your selected keywords in your domain will help your SEO no end!

Try to keep it short and sweet, I would say  a 2 word or at most a 3 word domain is enough to keep people interested in it and able to remember it!

So keywords and short!

If you are not going to use your brand name in url, then use the most popular keywords or keyphrases in your niche. But don't forget that domain should be simple and easy to remember and very different from your competitors.

If you already have a name for your business, use that. Just hope that no-one has already taken it, otherwise you will have to get creative with the spelling to try to find a way to keep it under that name.

While choosing a domain name you should consider the domain name should be short so that people(visitors) can remenber your website easily. The domain name should not contain any numbers or hyphens. It should be ralated to your website if your website is about car then your domain name should have any thing relaven to that for example carworld.com.
