Page rank is not useful anymore.I read it somewhere and this is what i found.
Google doesn't use the page rank factor to determine authority score.
This what John Mueller of  Google wrote
"have no plans to do further updates," around PageRank. He even said webmasters and SEOs should stop using "PageRank or links as a metric" around their web sites.
So now content is the king.Create quality content for the user and not for the search engine. You will develop the authority score automatically when people will start linking to you or share your content.Everyone's working on that now.!

Increasing page rank is a time consuming activity. It increases very slowly & totally depends upon the activities that are done by you to promote & design the site. Page Rank is not valuable these days. Suppose you are having high page rank, but this never means that you will rank top.

When you create great content relevant to your niche, and you build a network so that your content is talked about and shared, this will increase your PageRank.  The reason is that people reference great content all the time so you will get links back from pages that have PageRank themselves.  When someone with PageRank links back to your site, they are passing some 'link juice' (i.e. PageRank) back to your site.

The amount of PageRank depends on many factors, but two of the most important are the PageRank of the page sending you the traffic, and the number of other links on the page.  If you are the only link on the page then you get more link juice passed than if there are a 10 links there.

As your blog gets better known and you get more links for your content, the PageRank of individual pages will go up and this will feed into your overall PageRank score.

As your PageRank goes up it also becomes easier to rank for content.

Now a days Google is not considering Page Rank of the website.

Google already stops updating its Page Rank. The last update was December 2013.
So whatever you do, it wont increase its Page Rank.  ;)

Page rank is good and it depend on quality content, but I think we all want to write content for real people. So let`s just try to forget about search crawlers and page ranks. If the content and people who reads the content are real, unique, and they like and come back to read more, your goal is achieved.

I keep seeing the same question posted over and over, "Is Google PageRank Dead?" My thoughts are yes and no. Yes, it's dead to those outside of Google. No, it's not dead to Googlers (people who work at Google). In other words, I still think Google uses PageRank as a part of their organic ranking algorithm. I just don't think they will push PageRank out to the public anymore.

Focus on your content. The most important factor for your page rank is the content on your site. If your content is original and useful, it will draw more visitors than a page with poor content. Creating good content is not a simple task, and involves a lot of different factors.

Update your website regularly with new content. Websites that stagnate and do not stay current will drop in the ranks. If you're writing a blog, try to update at least once a week at the minimum.
Ensure that your content matches your site description and keywords. If readers click away from your site after discovering that the content does not match their search, you will get penalized when they leave quickly.
