In my own opinion, i think you have to do the Seo technique day by day like writing articles that has a unique content, article submission, social bookmarking, social media and directory submission it will help you to increase your ranking in any search engine.

Link building is just not enough now to rank.. Try to increase your social exposure by participating in communities such as twitter, facebook etc.. Google has evolved in last couple of years so you'll have to create superb content, then build some links and repo on social channels.
