Title: Keyword stuffing
Post by: seosolutions84 on 08-05-2012, 22:17:04
Keyword stuffing involves the calculated placement of keywords within a page to raise the keyword count, variety, and density of the page. This is useful to make a page appear to be relevant for a web crawler in a way that makes it more likely to be found. Example: A promoter of a Ponzi scheme wants to attract web surfers to a site where he advertises his scam. He places hidden text appropriate for a fan page of a popular music group on his page, hoping that the page will be listed as a fan site and receive many visits from music lovers. Older versions of indexing programs simply counted how often a keyword appeared, and used that to determine relevance levels. Most modern search engines have the ability to analyze a page for keyword stuffing and determine whether the frequency is consistent with other sites created specifically to attract search engine traffic. Also, large webpages are truncated, so that massive dictionary lists cannot be indexed on a single webpage.

Keyword stuffing is a black hat technique. Because there is a specified keyword density in google's algorithm. And if that limit exceeds its probably a black hat SEO. Stuffing keywords in the sense repeating your keywords again and again. This may annoy the users. So google spams your site, if it sees your site has stuffed keyword.

Keyword stuffing means when a web master uses too many keywords in an article or blog to get good ranking in search engines. Keyword stuffing is an unethical process of SEO. Google doesn’t look kindly on keyword stuffing. You have to avoid keyword stuffing in your blog or article. Also Google put your site in spam some time.

Keyword stuffing is considered to be an unethical search engine optimization (SEO) technique. Keyword stuffing occurs when a web page is loaded with keywords in the meta tags or in content. The repetition of words in meta tags may explain why many search engines no longer use these tags.

Each time when we do content optimization we must take an added concentration with our keyword. This must not exceed the limit which the search engine has created. Now the latest Google's update tells that it must not exceed 1.3 to 1.5% such a way we must not include too many repeated keywords to stuff and it will irritate the visitors.

Then one day, all of a sudden leading search engine websites like Google and Msn , came down heavily on these practices and specified their norms to keyword stuffing , failing which the web designers would be nabbed and their website banned for ever.

Keyword stuffing refers to the practice of adding superfluous keywords to a web page. The words are added for the 'benefit' of search engines and not human visitors. The words may or may not be visible to human visitors. While not necessarily a violation of search engine Terms of Service, at least when the words are visible to humans, it detracts from the impact of a page (it looks like spam). It is also possible that search engines may discount the importance of large blocks of text that do not conform to grammatical structures (ie. lists of disconnected keywords). There is no valid reason for engaging in this practice.

Keyword stuffing had been used in the past to obtain maximum search engine ranking and visibility for particular phrases. This method is completely outdated and adds no value to rankings today. In particular, Google no longer gives good rankings to pages employing this technique.

Filling pages with keywords results in a negative user experience, and can harm your site's ranking. Focus on creating useful, information-rich content that uses keywords appropriately and in context.

To fix this problem, review your site for misused keywords. Typically, these will be lists or paragraphs of keywords, often randomly repeated. Check carefully, because keywords can often be in the form of hidden text, or they can be hidden in title tags or alt attributes.

Once you've made your changes and are confident that your site no longer violates our guideline

WebPages are often filled with repetitive usage of keywords, this is called keyword stuffing. Repeating your keywords in an unnatural way is not good for your users and often results in a lower - not higher, ranking in Google.

Keyword stuffing is widely condemned by search engines, and the activity could lead to a search penalty. In other words, if you fill your page with needless keywords, it won't improve your chances of ranking higher.

A keyword stuffing example would be a page that is trying to rank for the term “best laptop bag” and using the following copy: “If you're looking for the best laptop bag, look no further. Our brand offers the best laptop bag that you could want for business or pleasure.

Keyword Stuffing is considered as one of the black hat techniques. Google simply penalize those websites that have keyword stuffing and this results in their ranking going down.

I prefer to use 1-2% keywords density for this purpose. This is more appropriate.

Keyword stuffing is when a brand fills or “stuffs” a webpage with with the same target term in hopes of ranking higher for that term in search engines. While not as popular as it was a few years ago, it’s still used by some brands to try to boost their search visibility.

Types of visible keyword stuffing include:

Unnecessarily repeating words or phrases
Adding words that are out of context
Inserting blocks of the same keyword
Using keywords that are not relevant to the topic of the page
A keyword stuffing example would be a page that is trying to rank for the term “best laptop bag” and using the following copy:

“If you’re looking for the best laptop bag, look no further. Our brand offers the best laptop bag that you could want for business or pleasure. With padding in our liners and a special pocket for your charger, this is the best laptop bag for travel or school.”
