Hi Experts,

I have migrated the example.in website to example123.com for targeting the international customers and changed the international targeting as "United States" in GSC. But the address found on the website is still India as we don't have any other offices in the US. When this done the competitive keywords that were ranking in India are completely disappearing from Google SERP in both the USA and India. Our keywords are came back in India location when I changed the targeting location to India.

Can anyone help me to find out and solve the issue?

One possible reason for this issue is that when you changed the international targeting in GSC to the United States, Google might see your website as more relevant to US searchers. As a result, it may have started prioritizing your website's visibility in the US search results. Since your website's address is still listed as India, it could be causing confusion for Google and affecting your rankings in both the US and India.

To solve this issue, you can try a few steps:

1. Update your website's address to reflect the correct location, which is India.

2. Make sure your website content aligns with your target audience and includes relevant keywords for both the US and India. This will help Google understand the intent of your website and improve its visibility in both locations.

3. Consider creating separate landing pages or sections on your website that specifically target the US audience. This could include content tailored to US customers and address any concerns they may have about your business being based in India.

4. Monitor your rankings and performance regularly in both the US and India. Use tools like Google Analytics and GSC to track changes and identify any further issues that may arise.

few additional steps you can take to address the issue:

1. Review your website's international targeting settings in Google Search Console: Double-check that you have correctly set the international targeting to the United States.

2. Check for any technical issues: Ensure that there are no technical issues with your website that could be causing the drop in rankings. Look for any crawl errors, broken links, or other issues that might affect your website's visibility.

3. Build local authority signals: Since your website is targeting an international audience, it would be beneficial to build local authority signals in the United States and India. This can include getting backlinks from relevant local websites, leveraging local business directories, and creating content that is specific to each location.

4. Optimize your content for both audiences: Make sure your website has relevant and high-quality content that caters to both the US and Indian audiences. This includes using keywords and phrases that are commonly searched for in each location.

5. Monitor your competitors: Keep an eye on your competitors who are ranking well in both the US and India. Analyze their strategies and identify any areas where you can improve or differentiate yourself to regain visibility.

6. Seek professional help if needed: If you're still unable to resolve the issue, it may be worth consulting with an SEO professional who can provide a thorough analysis of your website and offer tailored solutions.

what is the purpose of migrating both sites?
.in site you can manage for India and .com domain for international clients.

Our services are SharePoint and it's applications. The targeted visitors for this niche are mainly from US and UK. So We don't need to target the users in India. Also, you may probably know that it's difficult to maintain the two websites. That's y I have migrated the website from .in to .com.

Most frequently, we see drops because of changes that were made to the website, but they can also be caused by an algorithm update, technical issues, improvements competitors made, SERP lay-out changes or a Google penalty.

It can be due to development mistakes too! So go through all things which may cause indexing/deindexing issue.
