Link baiting is a grey-hat SEO technique which is used to get the various backlinks from several websites. It is the creation of content that incites users to link to your page from another website like articles, news stories, useful resources and sometimes controversial or sensationalistic information.

Linkbait is essentially a piece of content placed on a web page - whether it's an article, blog post any other section of cyberspace that is designed for the specific intention of gathering links from as many different sources as possible.Link baiting is a viral marketing form, and can be extremely powerful as it draws traffic to a website without keyword searches or specific searches for that web page.Linkbait is also piece of content, such as an video or podcast that is placed on the Web that results in others wanting to link to that content. Essentially the content acts as "bait" for others to link in to the information.

Link bait is content on your site to which other sites link because they want to,not because you ask them to.There are many different elements on web pages that can be considered as a link-bait,as long as someone links to it.Link bait can result in both traffic and ranking boots for a website.

A piece of content created for the purpose of attracting links is known as linkbait
(also known as a linkable asset). Later in this ebook I’m going to give you a list of
linkbait strategies; for example, creating a complete guide on a hot industry topic.

Link bait is content on your site to which other sites link because they want to, not because you ask them to. Traditionally, links are hard to get, requiring you to sacrifice your first born child (and at least link back, which nullifies their value in some search engines.) But with link bait, you “bait” your content and sit back and wait. Of course, you can be a little proactive …

I am believed that makes your website good-looking, with fine content on is the primary step of link baiting but I don’t know how it is effective to increase website ranking and Traffic.

It's just a grey-hat SEO technique in which the "content" acts as a bait for other websites. The sole purpose is to acquire backlinks from other websites. It's a good technique anyhow.

thanks....
