After reading around the forums I have read a couple of topics and seen a couple of people 'dissing' SEO shall we say.

I am just here reinforcing my view (and thats all it is, my view) that SEO is not dead. If companies spend £100millions of pounds a year on achieving top spots on Google, through SEO, would this suggest that it is dead?

Would you keep feeding a dead cat? Nope, don't think so. So this suggests to me that it is still well and truly alive.

Taking this on board I undertook my own method of research and set up my own blog and worked hard on the SEO and only SEO, and have found that I am now working on page 1 in google, at number 1!

So to all you people out there, keep SEOing!

Joe

Yes, seo will never die.
The first thing, that people will always want to get higher positions in SEs.
The second, there will be always companies which want to spend money to overthrow their concurrents in the net.

Very good point SEO will as you say "never die" until Google or Bing dies....which if we are deadly honest doesnt look like it is going to happen!

Couldn't agree more Mr Slacks - Think you have hit the nail on the head...people who say it is dying or dead are wrong!

It's human to want a repeatable formula to achieve a goal. The bad news is that there is no precise formula to SEO anymore. Sure, there are best practices, and a skilled SEO practitioner can greatly increase the chances of a good outcome. But we live in a world that comes with no guarantees — especially where SEO is concerned.

Of course, there have never really been any absolute guarantees when it comes to SEO. You should run away screaming from any SEO practitioner who promises one.
