Its a long story and the two most important dates in SEO's history are

Date: Nov 27, 2002 – A new method was adopted by yahoo search engine to dispaly search results through yahoo.com. At that time you have to pay for yahoo to get in the first and top of the yahoo search engine pages. But after lots of competitions and popularity among internet users, the yahoo have to back off with this strategy, don't know why..? because users were not getting satisfactory results and hence SEO professionals take place...

Date: March 24, 2008 – On this day Google (the god of search engines) produces a doubleclick a search engine marketing firm. Google was the first company to make this firm, ofcourse because they new all the secrets of SEO and SEM...

it is not a correct but officially google announcing 2009 and determine SEO strategies.

Just in case you are unsure, SEO is the process of designing and creating content that will result in increased amounts of quality traffic to a website from organic or un-paid search results. Like many things internet related SEO has evolved over the years.

I think Google is the base of the SEO ....if Google search engine will closed means all SEO and SEM employes lost job ..... lol
