Between 6 to 12 months. Depends on what you want and what keyterms that you wish to rank for really.

It depends and vary person to person. Sometime 1 month is enough and sometimes 12 months are less. So it
is all about ones quality and creativity.

The time taken depends on a couple of things

1.) The Niche
2.) How competitive the niche is
3.) Which keywords you want to rank for

Ultimately the SEO process begins with research. If you do your research right the rest falls into place just right. Know your keywords and their popularity. That really is the key, after that it's purely a matter of building links and tweaking onsite factors..

Hope that helped.

forums will take longer maybe 2-3 years because these require a community to be indexed successfully and communities are not usually built overnight.  Regular websites maybe 4-9 months if you work at it everyday

Forums don't necessarily take longer. Most of the forums we've built and advertised have been on vbulletin and have very quickly picked up really good search rankings and traffic.

HOWEVER, earnings from forums really don't take off until your search traffic gets a lot stronger. So maybe you're confusing the monetisation of forums taking 2-3 years. That I would agree with.

I would say 1-4 weeks to get indexed on google and then atleast 1-2 months to pick some better and more specific search rankings. It also depends on the strength of your domain name. If it's a strong keyword domain you'll see results much faster.

e.g.  I've had a strong keyword .com domain ranked in one day on page 1 for it's keyword by simply linking back to it on one of my other related PR6 sites.

Yeah I agree with you maybe I am confusing this but I also know that building a forum community is not always easy and forums become stagnant easy :)

I do think it depends on niche, and it depends how fast you want to be SEO.  You can submit your site the first day if you have the basic web content ready

PageRank. It seems like everyone is still obsessing about PageRank. (PageRank is in that little green bar in the Google Toolbar that indicates the supposed "value" of a site on a scale of 0-10.)

Here is an example of one of my client's rankings. The graph below shows the number my client's keywords on page 1, page 2, and page 3 of Google search results over time.

There is no fixed time for that how much time required for the SEO of a website or blog, this thing is totally depend on the keywords you are targeting and your target search engine domain. If you have high competition keywords and targeting on Google.com then it may take 2 years to get the top positions into the search engine.
