I have not much idea about it but I think link equity is the collection of the links that point to a site at any moment in time.

In simple words Link equity is the value a particular link from a page provides your site or the value that is transferred through said link. For example (( The total number and overall quality of the links pointing to your website).It depends on how many quality links a web site gain after performing link building activity.
