A Page Redirect is a permanent redirection that automatically sends a visitor to a new page. A search engine bot will ignore the content of the redirect page, indexing and ranking the new page. (This is the SEO friendly way to redirect a page because it will allow the transfer of any link power to the new page.)

Thank you!

Happy to help you.

By setting up a 301 redirect on the pages you permanently moved, you can easily give your visitors the better user-experience of your website. With a 301 redirect, you can be certain that your visitors will not access an obsolete version of your site, but will find all the last pieces of information they need on your pages.

An URL redirect is a web server function that sends a user from one URL to another. Redirects commonly take the form of an automated redirect that uses one of a series of status codes defined within the HTTP protocol.
There are several types of redirects available to Web developers, including manual redirects, HTTP 3xx series status codes, server-side scripts, JavaScript, frame redirects and meta tag refreshes.
An URL redirect may also be known as an HTTP code 3xx redirect, URL forwarding, domain redirection, and domain forwarding.

Page redirection is usually used to redirect your website traffic from your old webpage to the new webpage. Usually 301 redirection is used for webpage redirection as it is search engine friendly and helps to retain most your webpage value in search engines without losing much traffic.

When you click on any link or URL for navigating  to a page say ABC but internally you are directed to another page XYZ  this simply happens because of PAGE RE-Direction.
