Optimization of content is first thing in on page seo. The first essential tag is title tag and then description meta tag is important. Anchor text of images, good optimization of heading tags. Build a xml sitemap of your website.

when it comes to On-Page SEO, there are several basic things you should pay attention to:

Title Tags   : Ensure that each page on your website has a unique and descriptive title tag that includes relevant keywords.

Meta Descriptions   : Write compelling meta descriptions for each page, as these can impact your click-through rate in search results.

URL Structure   : Create simple, descriptive, and keyword-rich URLs for your pages.

Heading Tags   : Use heading tags (H1, H2, etc.) to structure your content and include relevant keywords where appropriate.

Content Quality   : Create high-quality, original content that is valuable and relevant to your target audience and includes relevant keywords.

Keyword Optimization   : Use relevant keywords strategically in your content, but avoid keyword stuffing.

Image Optimization   : Optimize your images by using descriptive file names and alt tags.

Internal Links   : Include internal links within your content to help users navigate your website and to establish a hierarchy of information.

Mobile-Friendliness   : Ensure that your website is optimized for mobile devices, as this is now a crucial ranking factor.

Page Loading Speed   : Improve your page loading speed, as faster-loading pages tend to rank better.

Schema Markup   : Implement structured data markup to provide search engines with more detailed information about your content, which can lead to rich snippets in search results.

Page Titles and Meta Descriptions Length   : Keep your page titles under 70 characters and meta descriptions under 160 characters to ensure they display properly in search results.

Outbound Links   : Include relevant outbound links to authoritative websites to provide additional value to your readers and demonstrate the credibility of your content.

Canonical Tags   : Use canonical tags to specify the preferred version of similar content, which can help avoid duplicate content issues.

Content Freshness   : Regularly update and add new content to demonstrate to search engines that your website is active and relevant.

User-Friendly URLs   : Create user-friendly URLs that are easy to read and understand, and include relevant keywords where appropriate.

SSL Certificate   : Ensure that your website is secure by implementing an SSL certificate, which can also positively impact your search engine rankings.

Social Sharing Integration   : Make it easy for users to share your content on social media platforms by including social sharing buttons on your pages.

Robots.txt and XML Sitemap   : Use a robots.txt file to control which parts of your site are crawled by search engines, and submit an XML sitemap to help search engines discover and index your pages.

User Experience (UX)   : Pay attention to the overall user experience of your website, including easy navigation, clear call-to-actions, and mobile responsiveness.

Internal Linking Structure   : Create a logical internal linking structure to guide users and search engines through your website's content, emphasizing important pages.

Content Formatting   : Use proper formatting such as bullet points, numbered lists, and bold text to make your content easy to read and scan.

Page Crawlability and Indexing   : Ensure that search engine bots can crawl and index your important pages by checking for any crawl errors and using noindex tags where necessary.

Responsive Design   : Make sure your website is responsive and adapts to different screen sizes, providing a consistent user experience across devices.

Local SEO Optimization   : If you have a local business, optimize your website for local searches by including location-specific keywords and creating a Google My Business listing.

404 Error Pages   : Customize your 404 error page to provide helpful links and navigation options for users who encounter broken links or missing pages.

Accessibility   : Follow best practices for web accessibility to ensure that all users, including those with disabilities, can access and understand your content.

Video and Multimedia Optimization   : If you use videos or multimedia on your site, optimize them for search engines by providing descriptive titles, captions, and transcripts.

Breadcrumbs   : Implement breadcrumb navigation to help users understand the hierarchical structure of your website and improve internal linking.

Content Silos   : Organize your website content into thematic silos or categories, making it easier for search engines to understand the relevance and organization of your content.

Panda Compliance   : Ensure that your website follows Google's Panda algorithm guidelines by providing high-quality, original, and valuable content while avoiding thin or duplicate content.

User-Generated Content Optimization   : If you have user-generated content, such as comments or reviews, make sure it is moderated and optimized for relevant keywords.

AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages)   : Consider implementing AMP for your mobile content to provide faster loading times and a better mobile user experience.

Keyword Cannibalization   : Avoid keyword cannibalization by ensuring that each of your web pages focuses on unique and specific keywords, preventing them from competing with each other in search results.

Page Depth   : Keep your important content within three clicks from the homepage to ensure that it's easily accessible to both users and search engine crawlers.

Engagement Metrics   : Monitor and improve engagement metrics such as bounce rate, time on page, and click-through rate to demonstrate to search engines that your content is relevant and engaging.

I'm Going to put a twist on this tread and say what not to follow.

Don't have any links coming from your websites that leads to spammy websites, or going to your websites that are coming from spam sites.

Don't use unworthy content, meaning:

  • spun content
  • unrelated content (different from your keywords)

Don't have tons of affiliate links

Don't clutter up your content by not using spaces and header tags

Don't use very short articles, or videos, This because you want to have a good bounce rate, meaning the longer a visitor stays on your page the better, A good bounce rate will tell the search engines that your content is go and relevant.

Don't have a website without social media share buttons

Don't use a lot of keywords in your content, just use them in the title, with in the first four sentences.

Them are just a name of a few.
