Why is Google indicating different Page Titles in search?

I have two websites I'm doing SEO for.

The first is for a company called "The Dump Truck." When I search for the website in Google, what it displays in it's search listing, isn't what is actually in the title tag when you open the site. I typically indicate the keywords first, then the name of the site.

Same goes for this new client I just started doing SEO work for:

Why is Google doing this and is it hindering my search results?

It's ok that google makes search results as "it's better for users"

If you want to see your title:
- check if <title> tag exists at all inside <head> tag close to top of it (you do)
- make more relevant title for your request
- make the length under 60 symbols
- possibly in your region google doesn't like | or other separator

provide experiment with it
