Why? My google index reduce so much?

These days the google index of my website have reduce nearly 3/4, I have check my friend links but i haven't find any problem. Do you know the reason? Give some reason you think,please. Thank you

Google index the pages where it find the meaningful information, searched more by visitors. And one need to make updation regularly with that page information for indexed regular. As google index process is going on and index pages with new information. So it is not like that once your page or site indexed then it stick their. No. One need to change it day by day.
