While using Open Site Explorer to review a URL, I noticed that all the linking pages have a spam score that includes "small proportion of branded links".
The Moz explanation states: Organically occurring links tend to contain a disproportionate amount of banded keywords. If a site does not have a lot of branded anchor text, it's a signal the links are not organic.

You can use Branded anchors for up to 50-60%, It's not an issue but for any page you need to build backlinks using various types anchor text.

Moz introduced the Spam Score. By using machine learning and a massive set of data, Moz identifies 27 key common signals with sites among the millions of banned or penalized sites.

High spam score doesn't mean that this site is spammy, it is a signal shows that you need to more focus on the quality and relevance of the site.
