New update is Google penguin. Google penguin focus on low quality content sites drop the ranking in google and may pe possible that website's page rank drop.

Google Panda update is a search filter  introduced in february 2011 whose main purpose is to stop  sites with poor  quality content and to get position in google top search result.google panda is refreshed from time to time and it will definetly effect the website by removing the low quality website from the search result and improve the quality of the search result because of which many sites lost there search result ranking due to google panda penalty.

The Panda update has affected sites like Mahalo, Ezine articles, Wisegeek and a lot of other websites. I was personally surprised that Ezine articles were affected because they do look over and edit their articles (they even reject some) – although perhaps quite loosely.
