Why does yahoo always show all our backlinks ?

Ok was just wondering about backlinks on yahoo and one thing I always see is that yahoo indexes and shows all the backlinks to a site whereas with google it only shows a handful. What's the reasoning behind this. Is google not seeing those other backlinks, are they more picky or what ?

I mean if the latter is true then shouldnt yahoo be a better search engine because it indexes more content and a links ?

To be honest I think Google is a little better about punishing spam backlinks than yahoo is.  Yahoo image search is great but some things like backlink recognition about Yahoo's search is far behind Google's.
