HTTP accelerator
From Seo Wiki - Search Engine Optimization and Programming Languages
An HTTP accelerator is a server-side program that compresses certain types of files before they are sent to a user's computer.[1] According to some, HTTP acceleration can speed up access times for certain files by up to 90%. According to Frederick Townes, many website hosts do not support HTTP acceleration in order to increase their clients' usage - and thus their revenue.[1]
