Company events

In May 2009, PEER 1 announced its phased build out of a 41,000 square foot green data center in the Toronto area. This will be PEER 1’s most eco-friendly data center to date, implementing the most efficient products and technologies on the market. The Toronto data center will offer scalable managed hosting, dedicated hosting through the ServerBeach brand, and co-location services. This will be the first time PEER 1 offers all three types of hosting from a Canadian-based facility[3].

In March 2009, PEER 1 opened a European headquarters in Southhampton, United Kingdom and initiated phase one of its UK data center, which strengthens the company’s presence in Europe alongside existing London and Amsterdam Points-of-Presence (PoPs)[4].

In February 2009, PEER 1 released three short videos for a "One Million Hits"[5] campaign to get the word out about IT preparedness in a humorous way by asking, "Is your business ready for a million hits?" In 2007, the company put out the first in another series of video shorts called "Growing Pains,"[6] to illustrate real life common hosting issues in a similar, comical way.

The company announced its customer support guarantee, FirstCall Support, which promises to provide answers and solutions on a managed hosting customer’s first call to the company. [7]

The Vancouver Sun recognized it as one of the fastest-growing BC-area companies in October 2008. [8]
