The latest Google Algorithm updates are

1. Fred update: released somewhere around 8th March 2017. This update focussed on sites who were primarily into black Hat SEO business. This update penalized sites that focussed around ad heavy monetization process.

Some website owners had their websites filled with ads all over only for the sake of monetization, their content was of low quality.

The majority of sites that got affected because of the Fred update included sites that had large number of ads and were solely created for generating revenue.

2. Google's Hawk Update: It was released somewhere around 22nd August 2017. This algorithm mainly impacted local search results

3. Google's Possum Algorithm: September 2016: The main aim of this update was to diversify search results and prevent spam from ranking
