Title: How do I remove unnatural links?
Post by: danielnash on 03-24-2017, 05:44:33
I worked too much to make dofollow links, after sometime I found my site's ranking is being dropped. Now I want to remove these unnatural links. I used disavow tool to remove these bad links but I think disavow tool does not work.

Suggest me other way to do this job effectively that works but except contact to website owner or webmaster?

Essentially, Disavow Links enables webmasters to submit files through the Google Webmaster Tools interface listing any links Google should devalue when determining the overall authority of the links pointing back at a website.

Digging up webmaster's contact information and asking them to remove the links you put to their site (well, most likely) can be a daunting task. Some SEOs outsource it on Fiverr or Odesk

Bots populating your website's comment forms telling you 'great article, love the info, hope you can elaborate more about the topic soon'. Personalized comments even, including author name. Spambots get more intelligent by the week, unfortunately. We've reviewed a site that was run by an older man replying to all of these comments, thanking them for the kind words. Don't get fooled. Comment spam links are bad for your backlink profile.

At first, submit the website link at Google's webmaster tool, then you need to verify the website.  After the completing the verification process, you should go to the " Link to Your Website" option, then click on the "Total Link" option and download complete back link of this website.

After downloading the back links, you should sort the list according to the alphabetic order.

After the sorting process, you have to check all the back links thoroughly. If you find any unnatural link, then mail them for link removing request.

If the webmaster does not delete this link , then you should make disavow list.

Leave them... you don't know which links Google gives you power from... by deleting out links you could be dropping your site. Unless you got a manual penalty from Google, you don't have anything to worry about.

I think that you expect the Disavow Tool to erase these links from your link profile. That's not how it works. You will still see them it's just that Google will not take them into account when it's crawling your website.

Disavow tool certainly works. If you can invest a few bucks then I would recommend you to buy a subscription for SEMrush because there you can get a list of toxic domains easily. I'm personally using same and got lot of benefit from same

There are lots of tools that removed the unnatural link of the website. But Google Disavow tools are the best and free tools that we used for the removal of the link. Follow these steps to remove the un-natural link from the website.

1) First, open the disavow links tool page.
2) After that select your website.
3) Then click Disavow links.
4) After that click chooses the file and chooses the file you created.

This process takes 3-5 weeks for removing the toxic link from your website.

Here are 4 steps to remove spammy bad backlinks for your website:

1. Identify your bad links using the tool.
2. Search for the contact information of the website you have the link on.
3. Contact the webmaster asking him to remove the link. If you don't get a response in within 2 weeks, go to the next step.
4. Disavow the links and upload the file to Google.

Ahrefs and Google Webmaster tools will allow you to monitor your backlinks and then you should import that info into a spreadsheet to monitor so that you can see what is going on. The real issue to me is whether or not removing inbound links is even worth the time or the effort in every case. Many sites won't remove backlinks or will try to charge you to do so.

That tool's a glorified placebo for folks who overdid the shady link-building hustle. Don't wanna contact webmasters? Fine, but don't cry when your rankings stay in the gutter.
Get real - start pumping out killer content to snag organic backlinks and dilute that spammy link profile. Use Ahrefs to sniff out the worst link trash and focus on scoring high-authority placements.

Really helpful post — dealing with unnatural links can be stressful, especially when they start hurting your rankings. I liked how you broke down the process step-by-step, especially identifying bad backlinks through tools like Google Search Console or third-party analyzers. Reaching out for removal is definitely time-consuming, but the disavow tool is a lifesaver when that doesn't work. Cleaning up a backlink profile is one of those behind-the-scenes SEO tasks that really pays off in the long run. Thanks for the solid advice!

To remove unnatural links, first identify them using SEO tools like Google Search Console. Contact the site owners to request removal. For unresponsive sites, use Google's Disavow Tool to tell search engines to ignore those links. Regularly monitor your backlink profile to maintain a healthy, natural link ecosystem.

You can remove unnatural links by identifying them in Google Search Console, contacting webmasters for removal and using Google's Disavow Tool to ensure they don't impact rankings.
